Chocolate Maca Smoothie Bowl

 Do you prefer sipping your smoothie, or grabbing a spoon and enjoying it in a bowl? I prefer the latter, always. I feel like I’m eating ice cream for breakfast, and I am definitely not complaining about that, especially this Chocolate Maca Smoothie.  It’s been on repeat all week, I mean just look at that chocolatey goodness!

This smoothie is packed with nutrients! I make sure to pack them with protein, fiber, fat, and a veggie to keep me feeling full all morning long. It’s key to creating a smoothie that won’t have you craving a snack an hour later, and if you do…I highly recommend my chocolate fat bombs, it’s my go-to! Plus, there’s no such thing as too much chocolate, am I right?



Need more convincing to make this smoothie? Well, maca powder is an amazing superfood, full of benefits! I honestly love the malty taste, but besides that, it is full of nutrients such as iron, helps improve energy and mood, and aids in balancing hormones. Raw cacao powder is packed with antioxidants, and similar to maca powder has lots of iron, and helps elevates your mood. One sip, and trust me, you’ll be on cloud 9 all morning long! Lastly, Ground chia or flax is an amazing source of fiber to keep your digestive system happy.

Chocolate Maca Smoothie

1 cup almond milk

1/2 cup frozen cauliflower

1/2 frozen banana

1 tsp. maca powder

1 Tbs. ground chia seeds or flax

1 Tbs. raw cacao powder

1-2 Tbs. almond butter

1 scoop chocolate protein powder

Optional: a handful of spinach

Directions: In a high-speed blender, combine all ingredients together, until smooth and creamy. I usually like to blend the almond milk and cauliflower together first, so no chunks remain. Additionally, add your favorite toppings. My favorites are coconut and grain-free granola.
